COMMUNITY 

I am Director of Community Life at the Chicago community of L'Arche, a federation of communities in which people  with and without intellectual disabilities share life together in a spirit of inclusion, peace-making and belonging. I have been an active member and professional in various L'Arche International communities.

Community Leadership

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE (L'Arche Chicago)

Responsible for quality of life, community life and formation of community members. Responsibilities include: training assistants, coordinating/leading community events, supporting members’ holistic health, fostering community spiritual life, promoting supports for individual and communal peace-making, and overseeing community management of the homes.

CO-FOUNDER/CO-CHAIR OF INCLUSION TEAM (L'Arche USA)

Co-founded and co-led, together with a person with disabilities, L'Arche USA national team that aims to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities at all levels within organizational structures and the larger society. Responsibilities included training persons on holding inclusive conversations in communities across the country, team-building/formation, and finding ways to increase persons with disabilities’ participation in community, so as to help bridge the gap between persons with and without disabilities.

Assistant

ASSISTANT (L'Arche Trosly, France; L'Arca Il Chicco, Rome, Italy; L'Arche Boston North; L'Arche Chicago; L'Arche Greater Washington DC)

Lived in L'Arche homes, together with housemates with and without intellectual disabilities. Assisted residents with disabilities in their personal and communal daily life.
