How can disability transform us all?

How can inclusion lead us to peace?

Welcome to my professional web-site! Originally from Rome, Italy, I am a doctor in Disability Studies, serving as Director of Community Life at L'Arche Chicago, a community in which people with and without intellectual disabilities share life together, and teaching at De Paul University's Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies program.

Coupling community experience with an interdisciplinary academic background (PhD in Disability Studies, MS in Clinical Psychology and BA in Theology with Philosophy studies), my work approaches the encounter with disability and inclusion in three ways:

- Psychologically. Accepting we all have abilities and inabilities helps people make peace with themselves.

Communally. Encountering people with disabilities can lead us into inclusive spaces of belonging where peace can be practiced/lived.

Socially. Challenging society's oppressive and marginalizing practices can create a more just and peaceful culture.
